DirecTV Now channels: The complete list for every live TV package

DirecTV Now has completely overhauled its live TV streaming service. In March 2019, the company announced a $10-per-month price increase for all of its existing packages and added two new offerings. Needless to say, it’s a bit of a mess, especially for new customers trying to figure out what exactly is available to them. This breakdown of DirecTV Now channels should help.

DirecTV Now local channels

DirecTV Now offers local channels in most American cities, but you don’t have to wait until you sign up to find out what’s available. Just go here and punch in your ZIP code to see what local channels are offered in your area. Here’s what came up for me in Washington, D.C., for example:

As of March 13, new subscribers have only two options: DirecTV Now Plus ($50 per month) and DirecTV Now Max ($75 per month). Both are slimmed down versions of previous packages. You’ll note the obvious lack of channels from Viacom ( MTV , Comedy Central ), AMC Networks ( AMC , BBC America ), and A+E Networks ( History , Lifetime ), but it’s worth calling out that HBO is included in both offerings. That’s a $14.99 per month value.

DirecTV Now legacy packages

Following the rollout of its Max and Plus packages, only existing customers will be able to continue using the packages listed below, all of which have had their cost bumped up by $10 per month. The price hike will go into effect on April 12.

1) Plus

Cost: $50 per month (Includeds HBO)

For my money, it doesn’t get any better than the Live a Little package (though it certainly gets bigger). Here, you’ll get all of your essential DirecTV Now channels: AMC, Comedy Central, ESPN, FS1, FX, HGTV, NBCSN, MTV, MSNBC, Syfy, TNT. It’s all there—and at a price point that’s tough to beat.

2) Max

Cost: $70 per month

DirecTV recommends Just Right as your ideal starting point. It’s a good middle ground between the entry-level Just a Little and the bloated offerings of Go Big and Gotta Have It. You’ll get 60+ channels, but if you look closely, most of the good DirecTV Now channels are already included in the significantly cheaper Live a Little package.

3) Go Big

Cost: $75 per month

If bigger is better, why not Go Big? You’ll never struggle to find something to watch with this package, which tacks on a lot of secondary channels (FS2, FXM) and even more sports options, like NBC Golf.

4) Gotta Have It

Cost: $85 per month

It doesn’t get any bigger than this in streaming entertainment. Simply put: This package can compete with anything you might find with a cable provider, minus the satellite, the annual contract, and all the related headaches. The most notable addition to this level of DirecTV Now channels is a whole suite of Starz programming. (We highly recommend you check out Black Sails.)

5) Todo y Mas

Cost: $55 per month

No one else in streaming entertainment, with the noted exception of the sports-focused FuboTV, does more to cater to Spanish-speaking viewers. This package, which fittingly translates to “everything and more,” cherrypicks from DirecTV Now’s entry-level package and adds more than 40 Spanish exclusives, including Univision, ESPN Deportes, Nat Geo Mundo, Telemundo, Discovery En Español, and CNN En Español, among others. If you’re bilingual, Todo y Mas provides the best of both worlds.
